I designed this enamel pin set to reflect my current place in my own journey towards self-love - essentially, at the beginning of it. I’ve started, which is important, but I know I have a long way to go. Personally, after finally starting therapy 2 years ago, I discovered that I struggle with Complex PTSD (CPTSD), along with the anxiety, episodic depression, and toxic inner critic that arose from it. After learning about the concepts of a healthy self and an inner critic, I began to imagine my healthy self as a potatocorn -- I had been drawing my happy-go-lucky potatocorn for many years, so it felt like a funny, familiar, and cute way to approach really difficult emotions.
I simply hope that these designs will resonate with others who are also working on self love, self compassion, and self worth. Ideally, the pins can serve as a physical reminder of how hard we’re working on our mental health, how important it is to keep trying, and (because we know others also own the same pins,) how we’re never truly alone in our feelings or efforts. <3
