Whenever others come to me seeking support, I passionately and automatically shower them with love, compassion, understanding … all the good stuff! When I turn around and look in the mirror, though, it doesn’t work at ALL. Sometimes I even end up extra frustrated that I’m not getting better fast enough. But self-love is like a skill, and skills take time to learn. We’re in the process of learning to love ourselves, and that’s already a huge step in the right direction.
